Inner Movie

We live a movie that we create or allow to happen.

We don’t always see that those things around us we attract.

We often default to blaming others or our environment, but who chooses the environment?

It’s easy to say that outside circumstances put me here & there is no way out.

The other course is to go against the grain, write the script, & live it.

As a matter of fact, living the script may be editing it as we go.

We are conscious beings that have free will.

What we do with it depends upon our movie plot.

Giving

“The real joy in life comes from giving. It comes from service. It comes from doing things for other people. That is what is so powerful about this. Nothing will make you happier than giving.” – Marc Benioff, CEO, Salesforce 2014 University of Southern California Commencement Speech

“Generosity, the habit of giving freely without expecting anything in return” Wikipedia

Is it true that giving can make one happy?

If so, why are we all not on that wave length?

Even the wealthiest man in the world believes this.

“Bill and Melinda Gates: Why giving away our wealth has been the most satisfying thing we’ve done” A TED talk worth watching.

What percentage of our time do we give to giving? If it’s so good for our well being, we ought to be taught this from an early age.

I was raised on Robin Hood & Jesus stories, so you might say that I had this concept at an early age. However, I was then put through our Capitalistic ‘Self Interest’ educational system & that pretty much reversed the time equation for me.

Stress comes with that decision but putting two & two together takes a long time.

‘Awakening’ from the ‘reality’ of the world we create through our ego self, is difficult at best.

Can we move away from self when we have so much invested in ‘it’?

That is an individual answer for each of us.
